“İmece (Collaboration) Circles Project” of Dr.Hayal Köksal took place within the first 22 award-winning projects out of 725, in 2005 World Bank Innovative Ideas for the Improvement of Turkey. Dr.Köksal has been using and publicising the methodology since 2001 and has improved it as the years passed by to the conditions and goals of Turkish educational system. Now, nearly 1000 İmece Projects were prepared by different schools and student teachers. Thus, students have learned how to manage conflict, meeting, time and a portfolio and how to work with a team.
It is approved by many educators and teachers that it is one of the best techniques of applying the new Constructivist curriculum in Turkey. It is based upon PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) Mindset and quality philosophy.
