ELEA was founded in 1995 to provide a professional umbrella for teachers of English working in Turkey. Dr.Hayal köksal was one of the founders of it. Later on she founded the Special Interest Group: Quality in ELT (Qu-ELT) and worked as the coordinating president of it. Between 1999-2004 she organized 12 “Sharing & Caring Meetings” for ELTers in different Universities of Turkey with the collaboration of Boğaziçi and Işık Universities. They gave seminars at Bolu, Adana, Kocaeli, Bursa Universities and also ırmak Schools. Since she has been guiding projects, she is only a passive member of ELEA.
